Matthew Carter designed Carter Latin, a new wood typeface that was released in 2003. He created this typeface for the Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. At the turn of the twentieth century, Hamilton was the largest provider of type in the United States. Now the worlds first wood type museum and workshop facility, the Hamilton houses a wealth of printing history. The Hamilton has cut several new typefaces in wood since it opened in 1999.
